Disclosures

Last updated [DATE]

Plain statements about what GroupMeet is, what it is not, and the limits you should know about before relying on it.

Not an emergency service

GroupMeet does not support emergency calls and cannot connect you to emergency responders. If someone is in danger or needs urgent medical help, call your local emergency number.

Health consultations

GroupMeet provides the software a practitioner uses to meet you. It does not practise medicine, does not supervise practitioners, and does not verify their credentials or licensure. Care, advice and record-keeping are entirely the practitioner's responsibility. Nothing on this platform is a substitute for in-person assessment where that is what your condition needs.

Operator action required — regulated health data

Access to consultation documents is authenticated, authorised against the treating practice, scoped to the owning consultation, served with no-store, and recorded in an access log capturing who opened which document and when.

Those are technical controls, not a compliance posture. In the United States, handling protected health information on behalf of a covered entity generally requires a Business Associate Agreement with each provider in the chain; UK/EU GDPR imposes parallel duties on special-category data. That is a contract, and no amount of engineering substitutes for it.

No claim of HIPAA, GDPR or SOC 2 compliance should be published until it has been independently established. [CONFIRM WITH COUNSEL THAT PROVIDER AGREEMENTS COVER THE CLINICAL USE CASES OFFERED]

Recording

Meetings are not recorded by default. Hosts hold a permission that allows recording, so a meeting you join may be recorded by its host. Consent requirements differ by country and by US state — some require everyone to agree. Hosts carry that obligation; if you are not comfortable, leave the meeting.

AI-generated content

Study assistance and meeting summaries are produced by an automated model and can be incomplete, misleading or simply wrong. Review anything you intend to rely on. Never use AI output as medical, legal or financial advice.

Scripture text

Scripture quotations are drawn from the ESV® Bible, provided through Crossway's API and used under its terms. [INSERT THE EXACT ESV COPYRIGHT NOTICE AND CONFIRM YOUR LICENCE COVERS THIS USE]

Payments

Card payments are processed by Stripe. We do not receive or store full card numbers. Where a practitioner collects payment through their own arrangement, that transaction is between you and them.

Confidential material

Features such as prayer lists and meeting notes are visible to the leaders and members of the workspace that holds them, according to the roles that workspace has configured. Treat “confidential” as meaning confidential to that group — not private to you alone.
