Effective [DATE] Governing law [JURISDICTION]

Draft pending legal review

Liability limits, warranty disclaimers and dispute terms vary enormously by jurisdiction and are exactly the clauses a court will scrutinise. These must be reviewed by a lawyer before they are relied upon.

1. Agreement

By creating an account or joining a meeting, you agree to these terms. If you are accepting on behalf of an organization, you confirm you are authorized to bind it.

2. Accounts

You must give accurate information and keep your password secure. You are responsible for activity under your account. Tell us promptly at [SECURITY CONTACT EMAIL] if you believe it has been compromised.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Break the law, or infringe anyone's rights, using the service.
  • Record or transcribe a meeting without the consent required where participants are located.
  • Upload malware, or attempt to breach, probe or overload the service.
  • Share meeting links with people the host has not chosen to admit.
  • Resell or white-label the service except under a written agreement with us.

4. If you host a meeting

Hosts hold real power over other people's experience — admitting and removing participants, muting them, and recording. If you host, you are responsible for:

  • Announcing any recording before it starts, and obtaining consent where the law requires it. Recording laws differ by country and by US state, and some require every participant to agree.
  • Who you admit, and what is shared once they are in the room.
  • Any personal or sensitive information your workspace collects from participants.

5. Your content

You keep ownership of everything you upload or create. You grant us the limited licence needed to host, transmit, back up and display that content in order to operate the service — nothing more, and it ends when you delete the content or your account.

6. Payment

Paid plans are billed through Stripe on the cycle shown at checkout and renew automatically until cancelled. Cancelling stops future charges; access continues to the end of the paid period. [REFUND POLICY]

7. Availability

We work to keep GroupMeet available but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may change, suspend or discontinue features. Where a change materially reduces a paid plan, we will give notice. [STATE ANY SLA, OR CONFIRM NONE IS OFFERED]

8. Third-party services

The service depends on the providers listed in the Privacy Policy. Their availability is outside our control and their own terms apply to their portion of the service.

9. Disclaimers

The service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind to the fullest extent the law allows. GroupMeet is a communications tool: it does not provide medical, legal, financial or professional advice, and it is not an emergency service.

10. Limitation of liability

[LIABILITY CAP AND EXCLUSIONS — DRAFT WITH COUNSEL. CONSUMER PROTECTION LAW LIMITS WHAT CAN BE EXCLUDED]

11. Suspension and termination

You may close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate an account that breaches these terms, that creates risk for other users, or where required by law. We will give notice where we reasonably can.

12. Changes to these terms

We will post changes here and update the effective date. Material changes will be notified to account holders before they take effect, and continued use after that date means acceptance.

13. Governing law

[GOVERNING LAW, VENUE, AND WHETHER ARBITRATION OR A CLASS-ACTION WAIVER APPLIES]
